Read And Write Story

When I comes to photography there’s many ways and different type of method of shooting a picture. when you take a picture they each have a meaning and significance to it. Determining the correct exposure for a silhouette may seem confusing at first, because the photographer must intentially underexpose the subject to the point where there is no detail visible except for the overall shape. This is easily accomplished, however, since the shot is already being made in a situation where the subject is lit from behind. By exposing for the background the natural result is to create a silhouette of the comparatively dimly lit subject in the foreground. silhouettes stories are to be inject excitement and drama into standard photographs. the he situation that best lends itself to the silhouette is when there is a subject with a large and relatively simple shape in the foreground which is strongly lit from behind. This is a lighting situation that is best avoided when shooting normal exposures, but it is ideal for creating a silhouette. The background must be brighter than the subject – which from the photographer’s point of view should be in shadow – in order to achieve an exposure that will result in a black, distinct form against a bright, crisp background. cameras that are fully automatic and have no manual mode or provision for intentially underexposing, there are still ways to insure a good silhouette. a silhouette can add a mood to an image that is already there and sit shows the setting of it.silhouette can be described as a well-defined, black shape that stands out against a brightly lit, uncomplicated background. Because of its visual simplicity the silhouette has remained one of the most often used effects in spite of the deluge of special effects gadgetry that is available to today’s photographer.

SILHOUETTE STORY

 Culture photography: read and write

“Cultural Photography” is the art of taking photos for the purpose of telling about a people or a culture. The photographs may be as simple as portraits of faces, or as common as street scenes, or as complex as the capturing of scenes that illustrate social relationships. Nothing about these kinds of images is new, of course.Photography has impacted society by allowing people to see others whom they would never have an opportunity to see otherwise. This includes presidents, politicians, celebrities and people from foreign countries. The advent of photography changed citizen voting behavior. Photography is also largely responsible for the modern-day concept of celebrity. Before the invention of photography, it was impossible for one person to have millions of fans and followers worldwide.

The participants were accurate in determining the winners and losers up to 73 percent of the time. Although most voters say that they are looking for a competent and intelligent representative, their voting behaviors are largely determined by the attractiveness of politicians’ photographs. Before the advent of photography in the 1830s, many voters based their decisions on campaign issues that were discussed in newspapers and brochures.Who we are and what we do can feel like defining characteristics. Most of us will spend half our lives trying to define who we are and the other half trying to figure out who we are when we are not doing the thing that defines us. It is a complex human dilemma that societies have wrangled with since the dawn of time.

The problem with photography is simple. We cannot photograph what we “see”. The mind plays tricks on us. Our eyes look at the world in a wide angle, but our consciousness focuses at any given moment on just a small part of what we are seeing. Even as we focus our concentration on a small part of the big scene of which we are a part, we still retain the “sense” of the totality of the location, time, and context in which we find ourselves. Our subconscious uses all of this data to analyze that small part of the scene on which our conscious mind has focused.

 Culture Identity Photographs

Photojournalism

hotojournalist Ron Haviv has covered wars and unrest across five continents. One of his first international assignments was covering the 1989 coup attempt in Panama.* So when he watched President Trump order his fever-pitch mob of supporters to “walk down to the Capitol” on Wednesday to somehow correct the “egregious assault on our democracy” involved in counting and certifying votes, Haviv could gauge better than most what might happen next. thousands of his supporters gathered in Washington, D.C., on January 5 and 6 to support his false claim that the 2020 election had been “stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats” and to demand that Vice President Mike Pence and Congress reject Biden’s victory. Starting at noon on January 6,at a “Save America” rally on the Ellipse, Trump repeated false claims of election irregularitiesand said, “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” During and after his speech, thousands of attendees walked to the Capitol and hundreds breached police perimeters as Congress was beginning the electoral vote count. More than 2,000 people broke into the building, occupying, vandalizing, and looting it,assaulting Capitol Police officers and reporters, and attempting to locate lawmakers to capture and harm. Gallows were erected west of the Capitol, and some rioters chanted “Hang Mike Pence” after he rejected false claims by Trump and others that the vice president could overturn the election results. Some vandalized and looted the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D‑CA) and other members of Congress.

Motion Blur

A few Certain things I have learned is that

Darken the room and position your subject against a black background. Allow enough background area for the number of different exposures you intend to make. When you are using a ground glass camera, mark off on the glass, with grease pencil, the areas where the subject should be for each different exposure. If not using a ground glass camera, make a pencil sketch to help you position the subject.Set up the electronic flash lights so the minimum amount of illumination falls on the background itself.Turn off all room lights and make your first exposure. Then, without advancing the film, move your subject to the next position for the second exposure. Repeat this procedure for each image you want to record on the film. To compensate for the light lost, you must open up your aperture when photographing objects at any distance. Because so much light is absorbed in these large areas, it may not be uncommon to open up your aperture two or three f/stops. Tests should be conducted before shooting in large, indoor areas, such as gymnasiums and hangar bays or outdoors at night, to determine which flash, camera, and film combination produces optimum results.t night a single on-camera flash produces stark lighting, and your subject is flatly lit and the background goes completely black. Close to details become very overexposed, and it is better to exclude them. Such simple lighting is ideal for action shots; for example, capturing leaping karate experts in midair at midnight. Subjects such as these benefit by being isolated from the background, but you may get more interesting lighting by using the unit off camera on an extension cord., it is ideal for recording any action ranging from a fleeting expression to a sports triumph. Most electronic flash units have a maximum flash duration (the length of time the light is on) of about 1/800th second, and a minimum flash duration as short as 1/20000th second, thus you can freeze almost any action with the flash.Action of any kind, no matter how slight, can add interest to most picyures. Each type of action requires a different camera technique, but because of the short duration of light from electronic flash

Wassily Kandisky

Russian-born Wassily Kandinsky pioneered abstract art in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His unique perspective on the form and function of art emphasized the synthesis of the visual and the auditory. He heard sounds as color, and this unusual perception was a guiding force in the development of his artistic style. He believed the purpose of art to be the conveyance of the artist’s unique inner vision, which required transcendence of the objective world. he the artist did not seriously pursue his artistic career until the age of 30. He had studied law, economics and ethnography at the University of Moscow, becoming a professor of law upon graduation. It was during his time at the university that he reprised his childhood interest in art, and in particular, the symbolic nature of color and its spiritual implications.

He experienced a sort of epiphany upon viewing a Monet exhibit in Moscow. At first put off by the artist’s Impressionistic Haystacks paintings, Kandinsky found nevertheless that Monet’s use of color impacted him in a significant way, taking on an almost mythic power. During this same period, the artist attended a performance of Wagner’s opera, “Lohengrin,” which had a similarly powerful effect on his sensibilities. It sparked a synesthetic experience in which the notes he heard became colors and visual images, a perception that would instruct his theories about art.

Sandy Skoglund

is an artist whose conceptual photography-based work explores a combination of familiarity and discomfort, humor and depth, ease and anxiety. Her work often incorporates sculpture and installation with vibrantly colored, meticulously constructed sets to question popular culture and commercial photography techniques. Since the late 1970s, Skoglund has been celebrated for her panoramic installations—entire environments that she designs, constructs, and then re-visualizes photographically. With a strong interest in examining how the camera sees compared to how the human eye sees, Skoglund arranges the props in her sets to play and experiment with the camera’s eye. “Photography, as a moment in time, introduces rigid pictorialism into the multiple viewpoints of sculptural perception,” Skoglund explains. “An installation is a lot more forgiving than the photographic element, which requires endless fussing with details as they appear within the frame. There’s a discerning eye that comes into play because photography translates sculpture in a totally different way.i am really intrigued by her marvelous type of art/work.

Motion Blur Techniques

  1. The shot of a passenger waiting on a subway platform for a train with moving train behind is always a fun one to experiment with because it contrasts the speed of a train with the stationary passenger (often being buffeted by wind of the train. These shots are all about making sure your camera is completely still tripods are key

  2. the coast. wherever there are people – there is movement! So don’t just focus upon the water.
  3. children. to get the shot you’re going to probably need a couple of people – one to hold onto the child and the other to hold the camera around that person’s waist (or over their shoulders) in front of the child.
  4. playground. playground is a great area as well. A variation of the spinning child shot above is to head to your local playground where there is usually a variety of equipment which is great for motion blur shots. Swings, merry go rounds, slides or pretty much any equipment that gets those on them moving are fun to experiment with. You can either position a camera on or off the moving equipment to get different types of effects.
  5. Bird photography is very popular in our forum area and among some of the best. The key in many places is to choose a shutter speed that is slow enough to get wing movement but fast enough to keep the rest of the moving bird sharp.

Flash Photography

Most people use flash photography only when it’s dark, at night or indoors. This is because there isn’t enough natural light or ambient light. But there are many other situations where we recommend it.
You can use a flash to get rid of shadows from your photo. By adding in the extra light source you can minimise shadows by filling them in. You can also use flash and a slow shutter speed when photographing a moving subject. This creates a half-frozen impression. This technique might take some practice to master. But it’s a fun and often somewhat unpredictable way to practise your skills.Illuminating your subject more than the background helps to isolate it. Set your flash so the output is a lot more than the light in the background. This will cause your subject to be brighter. This means it will stand out more.Adding a little flash when the light is dull can bring a photo to life. On cloudy days, before sunrise, or after sunset the light can be very flat.Introducing a little flash into a scene when the light is like this can liven it up.Strong backlight is often a challenge. Balancing flash with backlighting will diminish the washed out look. This is due to strong light behind a subject.

HDR

I really like the idea of  HDR. now HDR, High Dynamic Range Photography is a post-processing technique that uses multiple images of the same scene shot at different shutter speeds to combine them all into a single photograph. The result is an image with the most amount of detail in both shadow and bright areas of the image, close to what the human eye would see. it such a cool magnificent concept. when i took this picture i was actually at the cemetery and i had a good feeling about how i should use this advantage for my assignment. it had a good field and mixtures of colors as well as big blue sky.  Every image tries to tell some story behind it and it is mainly depends on person to person how they interpret it. above this it could carry different meanings to the different people what kind of aesthetic values and taste they have got, what cultural, educational background they hold to understand its meaning and effects. it was a little struggle to put this image together and work on it but at the end it’s worth i love taking pictures all the time. i like enjoying the sky and mostly the nature parts of the world.

TED TALK

The guy who is giving us the ted talk talks about how he shadows the photography. he started at age 15 when he got  digital camera. he says that photography is more about being at the right place at the right time. so as well he shows various pictures of how we interpret the world and that perspective is the illusion. i liked the idea of how the basics of it is like a puzzle of reality, where you take several different pieces of reality and put it together to create an alternate reality.

A photographer or a painter tries to tell the entire story of life, happiness, misery, joy, patience, grace and all the possible human emotions encapsulated in one frame. This is the masterpiece which he tries to recreate his entire life. Most of the time we see an image and we always co-relate it with ourselves , how it is connected to us what is the relation it has got with our lives; these are the general questions which comes in our mind while interoperating any image shown on newspaper, magazine or Television. Every image tries to tell some story behind it and it is mainly depends on person to person how they interpret it , because it could carry different meanings to the different people what kind of aesthetic values and taste they have got, what cultural, educational background they hold to understand its meaning and effects.

Technically, an image is a two-dimensional array of points, each with a specific intensity and wavelength. The similarity between the natural and photographic images is called its “fidelity,” which depends on two factors. First, the natural and photographic image should match optically. Objects in the image, such as a pedestrian in the roadway, should be the same size. Further, the relative sizes of and apparent distance between different objects, the “perspective,” should also match. Another size factor is field-of-view, the overall area of the scene captured by the image. There are also other, less critical, optical factors such as depth-of-field, the area that is in focus. Depth-of-focus has a strong influence on conspicuity and perceived distance.

Good tips For Flash Photography

  1. Bounce light

  2. diffuse the flash
  3. Make use of ambient light
  4. use colored Gel lights
  5. Use TTL Technology
  6. Enable High Speed Flash sync
  7. use multiples flashes
  8. The Main key to creating better lighting is to bounce the flash against another surface.
  9. A technique for creating more attractive lighting is to diffuse the light that comes from your flash. Like bouncing it, using a diffuser enlarges the size of the flash area to create softer, more even light.
  10. fastest shutter speed you can use that will still remain in sync with your flash. Going beyond 1/125 or 1/250, depending on your camera model, will leave large sections of black in your final image thanks to the shutter blocking the image sensor mid-exposure

The reason in which i choose to do an issue towards Animal Cruelty is because i have always had a big passion for animals i even decided to major as my backup as a veterinarian. many people agree on 50/50 when it comes to caring for animals. many say that they care for them and will do anything for them and i totally agree but then there’s people who are very cold hearted who could care less about them. there’s people who are hurting them such as hunting rhinos in the wild or killing lions just for there fur. this poster is supposed to justify the awareness to stop animal abuse. this is not attended for people to feel threatened but to feel impacted and inspired.

where do I see myself in 10 years photomontage

In 10 years I see myself being in school. I will be working hard to accomplish my dream goals. and one of them is to succeed in college. I want to have my bachelors degree in criminal justice and minor in psychology. therefore I want to be working my way to achieving my goal. my main goal is to be financially stable and become a law enforcement detective. I plan to be living in loss Angeles perhaps with family.

furthermore I want to visit one day in Spain whenever the time is ready. I have always dreamed about visiting in Spain. I find Spain a beautiful artistic piece of art, its very eye catching to me especially because of the nice buildings and the places it has. I would like to experience the different types of custom culture they might have there.

therefore i hope to be accomplishing my dream goals step by step. I want to help my parents in return after what they have done for me. I want to make them feel proud and happy. knowing that I believe I can do it with the help and support from family and friends.

5 List of ways for better composition behind cameras

1- The first one is The rule of thirds is all about where you position the main elements in a scene. The rule (which is really just a guideline) suggests that an image will look more balanced and aesthetically pleasing if you position important parts of the scene off-center. the way to do this to Switch the gridlines on in your iPhone’s camera app to display two horizontal and two vertical lines. The rule of thirds tells that the most powerful areas of the image are the four points where the lines intersect, and that our eyes are naturally drawn to these areas first. Position your main subject on one of these intersections to give the most emphasis to your object/subject.

2- including a focal point, photo should include a main subject or point of interest. This focal point gives your photo meaning and offers the viewer a place for their eye to rest. Without a focal point your image is unlikely to hold the viewer’s attention for long.

3- place your main subject off-center creates a more interesting and harmonious composition, but it may leave an empty space in the scene resulting in an unbalanced image. You can balance the “weight” of your subject by including another object to fill the space. You can use the “diagonal principle” to help balance multiple subjects in a photo. The diagonal principle states that the most important parts of the image (the main subjects) should be placed along the diagonal

4-The fourth one is Shooting from a Lower Angle. this can help simplify the composition and also gives a unique viewpoint that most people don’t usually see.

5- The 5th one is including Foreground Interest, including foreground objects is a great way of adding interest to your iPhone photos.. Shooting from a lower angle often makes it easier to include objects in the foreground. It also gives an image more depth, helping to lead the eye from the front to the back of the photo.

RAW VS JPG

RAW. when shooting in RAW, shooting in raw means that your final exported file will only have two types of information in it: how much light hit each photosite ,which are light sensitive receptors arranged in a grid on the camera sensor and what colour filter overlays that photosite  the Camera captures all the details. the camera saves the photo in RAW file format. This is an unprocessed photo file format that allows you to edit without compromising its quality. Most modern digital cameras can shoot in RAW format. Some of the latest smartphone cameras can also capture RAW images. A JPEG file will open on any digital device and computer. On the other hand, to open RAW file formats, you will need special software depending on the type of your Camera. There are several file formats in photography, including PNG and TIF. However, the most common formats used by photographers around the world are JPEG and RAW formats.

JPG. considered the standard file format in the digital photography world. JPEG mode is the default setting for many digital cameras and is likely what your digital camera was set to when you first took it out of the box. The JPEG standard specifies the codec, which defines how an image is compressed into a stream of bytes and decompressed back into an image, but not the file format used to contain that stream. The Exif and JFIF standards define the commonly used file formats for interchange of JPEG-compressed images. The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable trade-off between storage size and image quality.JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality. they also have some major features for example.

  • Multi-document interface
  • Advanced JPEG compression engine.
  • Command-line
  • Graphic Detail Quality Equalizer
  • Compression-oriented image prefiltering
  • Hold the defined compression ratio
  • Selective image compression
  • Progressive JPEG images support
  • Image Resizing (Resampling)

What I learned about camera exposure and camera modes

My understanding from What I learned about the camera’s features for example is that i learned that the ISO is what controls the sensitivity of the light and the Shutter Speed is when the camera sensor will be open or closed to incoming light from the camera lens. A camera’s aperture setting is what determines a photo’s depth of field. The camera’s camera’s aperture setting controls the area over which light can pass through the camera. “stopping down” or “opening up” their lens, they are referring to increasing and decreasing the f-stop value, respectively. I do remember reading that the f-stop value halves, the light-collecting area quadruples. The Camera permits shutter speeds which are longer than ordinarily allowed for hand-held shots, and increases the ISO speed to near its maximum available value.
